Scheduled check-ups are the best preventative measure to keep your pool and hot tub healthy. We are always happy to help! A regular check-up will include water testing, cleaning services, chemical checks, and pressure testing.
Water testing your hot tub or pool needs to be done once a week. These tests look for phosphates in the water (which provide food for algae), calcium levels and build-up, the presence of metals, and the pH balance of the water. These require different tests and are often performed with litmus paper strips, which change color according to chemical presence. Too much calcium and your equipment will suffer from calcium build-up, too much acidity, and your pool or hot tub surface will begin to erode too much basicity, and your water will be cloudy. Water testing looks for a number of problems, but you will need professional opinions (like our own to fix them)!
Scheduled check-ups will also perform routine cleaning. These use pool cleaning robots and dolphins to skim off the top layer of the water, remove any debris from the pool floor, scrub off algae, and clean pool edges and tiles. By removing sediment and ensuring no algae growth, we can keep your pool clean and healthy- prolonging the life of the hot tub or pool. Sediment attracts bacteria and allows tannins to stain pool floors. By removing this, we can prevent that from happening.
During a scheduled check-up and maintenance, Kelowna Pool Cleaning will also check the pressure in pipes and find any weak spots that may burst in times of strain. Pressure testing involves locating pressure gauges and exposed pipe points and measuring the strength of the water passing through that point. These measurements can expose weak points and prevent leakages before they happen!
